Britain’s Jessica Learmonth finished first to take gold at the triathlon European Championships in Kitzbuhel.
Jess emerged from the swim in 1st place and started the bike section on her Kuota Kougar with 3 others. They set off at a cracking pace and quickly built up a 2 min lead on the rest of the field.
The 4 girls then set off on the run to decide the medal placings. Jess and team mate Sophie Caldwell managed to break from the 2 remaining challengers to fight it out for 1st place.
Eventually Jess pulled away on the last lap to finish just ahead of her team mate and take the Gold to become European Champion.
“To get a GB one-two is just amazing, and India made some tactical decisions which helped us.”
